My situation, and your situation, si similar to the situation of the 99% of the italians students.
The main problems is the age.
A child, in Italy, begins studying English when he is six. It's too late.
In Denmark, Norway, Finland and a lot of other countries, when the children begin going to school they already speak English.
The best age for learning a language is from 0 up 3 years. In this period, a child can learn up to seven languges at the same time. It's fantastic.
So, an italian child of six studies the name of colours
while a norway child of six is already able writing and reading in English.
Italy has an EF-EPi score of 54,02, lower than the EF-EPi score of 27 countries.
